Robert Batt

Clinical Director & CEO

Robert BattMy role is to lead the Clinical Team and to manage the direction and expansion of The Recovery Centre.

I believe passionately in the ethos of providing the best and most effective solution for the many individuals who have asked for my help, advice and experience over the four years since I co-founded The Recovery Centre.  I helped to create the concept of Customised Care and continue to pioneer new and innovative treatment programmes for our clients based on their unique goals and their individual circumstances.

I hold a Masters Degree in Addiction Psychology and have been practicing for the last 10 years.  My weekends are spent on our family farm in Norfolk, with my wife and my three daughters; Laura, Isobel and Emilia.

Inspiration:

Martin Seligman – Professor of Psychology University of Pennsylvania – for writing the positive counterpoint to DSM-IV; Character Strengths and Virtues

James Hillman – Author of The Soul’s Code in which he suggestes that each individual holds the potential for their unique possibilities inside themselves already, in the same way that an acorn holds the pattern for an oak tree.

Charisse Cooke – Psychotherapist, for her concept of “abundance”
